Junk Chic Cottage #4

Hello everyone.

After the house was only on the market for 2 days we had our first showing and they bought the house.

We are so lucky to have the first person through  buy this sweet home..

This is bitter sweet for me.  I have loved JCC #3.  I always wanted the cottage style home and we found it with this sweet place.

With building a garage, renovations to the basement we made this sweet tiny home pretty and cozy.

I just loved this neighborhood too.

I will miss this sweet home.

With JCC#3 selling so quickly that left us to find our next place this weekend.

I had found a cute cottage style home a few weeks ago and made a great connection the minute I stepped inside.

I really thought it would sell before we got ours sold.

It did not so we went in and made an offer and with a few back and forth's on the contract we agreed and now will be owning this sweet home in a month.

JCC#4 cottage style home.

This one is small like JCC #3 and no basement.

It does have a pull down steps to a very large storage area in the attic.

I see some cute new flower boxes under those windows and some new flowers in the beds.

This is the back of the home.  They had a hot tub on the deck.
I am happy the hook ups are all there.  There might be a hot tub in our future!!
We will be putting a deck on this back part of the home.

It has a beautiful backyard space.  Buddy needs a backyard so he will love this one.

This is where we will be doing a big remake.  This one car garage is not going to cut it with having a very tiny house.

So we are going to be putting up a 2.5 car garage with a 8 foot bump out in the back of the garage to make Terry a Fire Man Cave at the back of this garage for all his fireman collectibles etc.

Since the garage door is brand new we think we will do a double garage with another similar door to make good use of the one that is new.

All the floors have been re done and are original to the house.
I love that so much!!!
The oak trim and base molding are beautiful in this house including the crown molding through out this house.

I cannot wait to paint the walls and add my decor to this room.

I can see my slipcovered furniture and Terry leather chair plus pretty vintage armoire with TV making this room pretty and cozy.

The Master Bedroom is not much larger than the one we have now.

We have a king sleep number bed that we have had for years and just love.

Unfortunately it will not fit in this small of a master.

We will be getting a new queen bed that will fit much better.  My daughter is excited I will be passing my King sleep number bed onto them.

I see a pretty paint color and great area rug and some pretty drapes to make this room cozy.

This is the other bedroom that will be transformed into my office and Terry's office space and hopefully a guest room bed.

This is the fully renovated kitchen.  It has all new white shaker cabinets with the soft close doors and drawers.
Don't you love those!!!
It is the little things like this that make me happy.  It has black granite counters that will stay.

I am thinking a new bridge farmhouse sink and faucet and my small chandelier  over the sink along with a pretty window feature.

This refrigerator is awkward and sticks out in the room.

We are going to get a french door refrigerator that is counter length and will not stick out in this room so much.

I will be putting a new floor in the kitchen too.

This is the back area of the kitchen that they used as a "mud room".
Terry is going to cut down my old german pantry from our kitchen now and fit it into this space.

I will have a large storage pantry once again.

This bathroom!!!!!  It will be completely re done.  New tub, shower ,shower doors gone,  vanity, floors.

She will be pretty again and more up to date.

I hope I can find another vintage dresser to make the vanity in this bathroom.

So good bye sweet JCC #3.  We will miss you.

Hello JCC#4.
Adding some window boxes and bring my flowers to add some color to this sweet cottage in the front.

I will post the before and after's of all the rooms in this little cottage home as we begin the changes.

We are excited to have Terry moving on with his new job and we will enjoy getting JCC#4 prettied up and cozy for us to live.

Stay tuned.
Things will be crazy for me in the next month as we begin to pack and get ready for the move.

We will probably be putting all the garage things in a pod for storage until the new garage is built.

I cannot wait to get in and clean and paint and start to make this sweet place our own.

Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes.  We are beyond happy our home sold so quickly and that we were able to find another cottage style home.
I have embraced living small and just love it.
Hugs,
Kris

  20. It is YOU, Kris!!! I was a bit concerned when you said no basement but I can see why this house stole your heart. Now for the moving process. And, if you wanted the work you could always remove the drywall and vault the ceiling to make the place look even larger and maybe even put a loft in there....just a thought...and something for Terry to do in his spare time...bwhahahhaha.

Can't wait to see it all done and you KNOW you are going to paint that woodwork...am I right?!

Have a great day-off to work and I get to stage a home today for one of the new guys. xo Diana

  31. Dearest Kris! It is a darling cottage! Somehow I think this one will be your best Junk Cottage yet. I know the packing and moving will be exhausting before your work even begins there but I also know it will be beautiful each step of the way. How could it not be with you two darling people living in it! It is going to be loved on so much. And we'll get to follow along with each project. Thank goodness for a quick sale and the new owners of your house are so lucky. 32. So excited for you Kris! I KNEW JCC#3 would sell right away... who could not just love it to pieces???? And so glad JCC#4 was still there just waiting for you! It is very cute and so "you"... and I love it already. The kitchen looks a little bigger as does the living room too? Hard to tell but it does look a little bigger. And I was immediately wondering "where is Terry going to have his fireman cave?" when you said no basement! Glad he'll get his room off of the garage. Glad you got this at the beginning of summer so that by Fall, hopefully, the major changes will be done and in place! I just knew you needed something to do now that JCC#3 was all fixed up! :-) hugs... Marilyn

I like the window in the new house.

  41. Everything fell into place so nicely Kris, which just goes to show you it is meant to be. Your new place has your name written all over it! It’s adorable, and I love the color of the siding and of course the floors are beautiful. The one thing that HAS to go (and I know you agree), is that teeny tiny window box! Now work your magic and put a proper one there and it alone will transform the front of the house (but I know you will do LOTS more).

  48. It will be beautiful! Love all your little touches. Not sure I could go down to a queen bed. We are downsizing and Will have a much smaller bedroom too. I'm going to look for a metal king bed so it takes up less space visually than our wood one. Can't wait to see all your changes!
