Last Post for 2018

Happy New Year to all of you.

A little update on the Living Room changes.

The last of the wallpaper is off the walls.  Walls were sanded and paint was applied!

The room is now a blank slate for what is to come.
I am waiting on my sectional to arrive and Terry is making me a new table which I am leaning towards round.

He will use the legs off this table already in the room or I might just use this table as my new desk.  Have not decided yet!

As we say good bye to 2018,  I want to thank all of you for a year filled with sweet comments and friendship shared.

You all have blessed me and my little blog in so many ways.

I wish all of you a new year filled with lots of good health, happiness and that you find Joy in every day.

For many of you suffering with health issues I continue to pray for you and your families.

So many of us have had struggles this past year in a lot of different ways.  May the new year clear a path to more peace and less struggle.

Happy New Year!
Hugs,
Kris

New Year New Changes

Hi Everyone.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and now we are moving into the New Year and New Adventures!

Speaking of new adventures,  I had said in my last post that I was thinking of taking a wall down between my living room and kitchen.

I felt it would give a more open concept and hopefully allow me more space for a dining table and living room area.

This is the wall in question.  After lots of thought on taking this wall down we decided not to do it.

This is a load bearing wall.
Terry said he could put up a new beam and braces in the ceiling to take this wall down.

I thought about all the work along with dry walling and plastering to follow!
Even with my great new camera on my new I phone still on a very dark and dreary day my pics look a little grainy.  I apologize!  Hopefully some day soon the sun will come out for better pics!!!

Besides the fact of all the hidden worries inside the wall of this 1940's home,  I also need this French Armoire that is my kitchen pantry.

This pantry is on that wall that would come down and we would have to swing it up against the long wall after this wall came down.

It would jet out into the space too much and take up the room  for a dining room table.

Now it is on to plan B.  I had to think about how I could make this living room work as a living space and also a dining room space.  A big challenge in this small home.

As you can see the plan is underway!!
Pretty twinkle lights on my Christmas tree is now replaced with a beautiful mess!

Wallpaper is coming down and getting ready for paint.

Buddy is confused on what the heck is happening in this living room!!!!

I found this piece on Offer Up and it got a make over.

The new armoire got some new cabinet paint in white.  This will hold a new TV so I have a TV on the first floor of this house and not just in the Terry's Fireman Cave downstairs.

Santa is bringing us a new Small Space Sectional for our living room.
After lots of searching!!!!
Pottery Barn was one of the only places that had a small space sectional that would fit in the space I had to make the living room space and still allow me room for the dining room table.

After looking at several sample swatches we decided on this light cream performance linen.

It is neutral enough to go with any of my decor changes now and in the future.

This is ordered and can take from 4 to 8 weeks to come in.  I am hoping to get it sooner than later.

Pottery Barn is having their biggest sale of the year right now and so they get tons of orders.  So that might be a problem to get it sooner than later.  We will see!!

I was gifted this beautiful sign for Christmas.

I hung it above my open shelves in my kitchen.

After taking all my Christmas decor down I decided to keep my winter birds out and not pack them up.

I love these sweet guys.  They make me smile each morning when I walk into my kitchen.

Since they are winter birds I feel they can stay out of the Christmas decor boxes for now.
On a thank you note.  I was gifted these handmade soaps from Benita @ Chasing Quaintness.  Thanks Benita the orange clove and peppermint smell so good in my kitchen.

Wishing all of you a grand entry into the New Year!  May we all have wonderful blog adventures in the new year.

Thank you always for following along with my decor changes.  Your friendship's shared bless me in so many ways.

Cheers to a better start in the New Year and may we all enjoy good health, happiness and find joy everyday.

Stay tuned for the stages of the new living room and dining room changes.  I will show you things as they get completed and then hopefully when the new sectional arrives I can show you the whole room put together.

Happy New Year!
Hugs,
Kris

What Sings My Soul

Hello Everyone.  We are getting close now to the big day.  Hope you all have enjoyed this time getting ready.

I collect angels and I was gifted a couple of angels this past week.
I could hardly contain myself when I opened up the package.
They are now in my Christmas decor.  I thought I would share them with you.

This sweet angel with her red bell just makes my heart beat a little faster.  She is the sweetest angel and all her special touches.

I love her grey and white dress along with her silver halo and trim.  It is hard to find pretty angels with blonde hair.  This one is just so sweet with her blonde locks.

She looks pretty at night when the lights on the tree are on.  I decided she is the Snowflake Angel in my tree.

Love her pretty sparkle with her silver trim.

I am naming her Joy.  That is what she brings me every time I look at her.

I have been having fun moving her around my living room to different places.

This sweet gifted angel ornament was in the tree at first.
She also looked sweet with my snowflake theme to the tree.

She is totally sweet with her lace trim and blonde locks.

This is where she ended up.  I was also gifted this beautiful chippy sign.  She looks perfect adorned here on the sign.
My angel friend that made these gifts for me made my day.  I am so blessed she gifted me with these beautiful angels and sign.
My tree was too big to put in front of the mirror like I wanted but it does reflect the tree which is just as good.

I think it looks pretty reflecting in the mirror.

I also was gifted this sweet cherub pot and floral vignette from a dear friend at my girlfriend party.  Very soft and pretty in my decor.

Well sweet blogging angels.  I will be signing off until the first of the new year.

I need some down time to enjoy the last few days before Christmas and to have some time with my family.

Just a short blogging break.
I will be back in January to show you how a wall can come down and open up my tiny rooms into a more open concept.

Let's hope this project goes smoothly.  Terry has the tools ready and has thought this out.

I think we will be off to a great start on this project come January.

Love you all and wish all of you a
Very Merry Christmas.
XOXO
Kris

Santa Visit

Hello.  Happy Weekend.

I know all of you are busy with baking, shopping, wrapping and last minute decorating so I will keep this post short.

Our special little guy Buddy had a visit with Santa and I wanted to share the precious pictures.

Buddy was not too sure about this guy with the beard but warm up to him quickly.

Buddy had on his new green sweater to meet Santa.  He wanted to look his best!

Buddy was very excited to tell Santa his wish list for Christmas.  Santa told him since he has been such a good boy that he will be getting some nice treats under the tree this year.

Just wanted to take a little break from this busy time of year to say Hi and share Buddy with Santa.

I am enjoying having all my shopping and wrapping done and most of the baking of cookies done.

Now I can just enjoy the few days left until the big day arrives.
Have a great Weekend.
Hugs,
Kris

Living Room Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone.
Hope the baking, shopping, wrapping and final decorating is all going good and you are enjoying all of it.

I know I have said this many times but this time of year goes to quickly.

Here is my living room tree.

I have always wanted a noble fir tree.  I love the long branches and the natural look.  I found this one about a week ago at the Home Store.  All trees were 50% off.

I decided to keep the decor on the tree simple.  This tree is so pretty just by itself with just the lights.  I added the snowflakes to give it a little bling and of course my lucky nest I made.

The branches feel real.  Such a pretty tree with the two colors of green.

Here it is lights on at night.  It gives off a really pretty glow.  Looks so bright in this picture but the lights are pretty subtle.

I have snowflakes from the dollar store hanging with white ribbon from the shutters.

The tree came with lots of realistic pinecones on the branches.  I was going to take them off but when I got it set up I loved them for a realistic look.

The snowflake theme was pretty easy and inexpensive to create.  Dollar store big snowflakes and little snowflakes for ornaments were from Walmart.  Twenty four snowflakes in a package for $2.98.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
Wish this time of year did not go so quickly.
Hugs,
Kris

Christmas Kitchen Decor

Hello Sweet Blogger Friends.
Hope all your baking, shopping, wrapping, Christmas Card writing and all other holiday things are going well.

This time of year goes so fast.

Trying to enjoy all the days leading up to the big day.

Thought I would show some of my Christmas decor in the kitchen.

With having a very tiny house I tried to get a festive look for this small space.

Remember these sweet little birds I got at Target last year.  Love these little birds.   Target had some really cute ones for this year too but I resisted and stayed with just these.

I just love these sweet birds and how they are dressed for winter.

I have them on one of my shelves in the kitchen.

I added some little fairy lights to have them shine at night.

This is my kitchen tree with the lights on.  I did a snowflake kisses theme on this tree.

Here is my tree without the lights on during the day in the kitchen.

Even with my girls grown and out of the house I still get out my elf on the shelf.  He is sitting in my kitchen Christmas tree keeping an eye on little Buddy and Terry now!!!!

This was my Elf at my Girlfriend Christmas Party waiting for the naughty girls to come and take a kiss!!!

This is my watering can all done up with Christmas and winter flowers on my kitchen island.

My sweet kitchen cherub.  No facial changes with this cherub like the outside garden one!

I put up a half wreath on the back door and underneath a wooden tree with greens and a cute bell.

My small house sign and below it is a Christmas wreath and Buddy's stocking.

Hope you liked the tour of my kitchen Christmas decor.  With decorating in a small space I have to live with "less is more".

Hope you all are having lots of fun as we head on down to Christmas.
I baked yesterday all day.  Got 5 kinds of cookies baked.  The house smelled so good.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Kris
