New to the Garden

Hi Everyone.
Happy Friday.

My Garden Green House that I showed you here in my kitchen has moved!

It looked really nice here but after looking at it in this space I felt it was too big and would be better outside in the garden.  Well at least for the summer months.

So outside it landed in the front garden area.   The chandelier is on a timer and it lights up at night.  Soooo pretty.

I kept most of the same decor pieces inside this green house for now.

My vintage Schwinn is out front in the garden.
The greenery is gotten so big you almost cannot see the bike anymore.  I am going to have to do some switching out of things so the bike shows up more.

My flower boxes are so lush this summer. You cannot even see the flower boxes anymore!
The flower boxes are growing like crazy!

Another treasure has been moved out on the porch.  It is my old chippy column and birdhouse.

Things have buds on them for a second blooming both in the flower boxes and also the hydrangea's.  Next season I hope to add more roses to this area for more color.

My birdbath Cherub

I have a chippy white folding chair on the porch too.

I do want to add in more color to the ground.  I think some more rose bushes and also some other flowering perennials.  The hydrangea's in the middle had full blooms early on.  They are now getting new buds to open up hopefully soon.  That will bring more color to the front of the house.

I like having the green house outside in the front garden for now.  You will have to take my word at night when the chandelier is lite it is so pretty.  Just cannot capture a great picture of it lite up at night.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Kris

  1. GOod morning Kris!!!!!

Everything is so lush and looks great. Here in my garden as well, the white Million Bells are SO HUGE! I know how pretty your little chandy must be at night; we cannot get enough of the beauty of our chandy lit up at night on our deck. Oh, summer....please don't end!

  2. Wow Kris, you certainly have beautiful flowerbeds. I bet when people drive by your house they look twice. As you and Terry have spruced up that wonderful house, I know the neighbors are happy about how pretty it is now. Sorry the little greenhouse didn't work inside. It looks good with all the other chippy white things . Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie

  6. Even the most gorgeous additions in a home, must work---and with your cottage I can see where it might be 'too big', maybe in fall it could be tucked diagonal in a corner and back lit with an uplight...???Might be very dramatic and still not sticking out in the room? Meanwhile, it is adorable outside and adds great architectural accent.

  7. What a great idea to move it outside in the summer! And you think of everything, like the chandy being on a timer. So smart! Every time I see your front door, it makes me want a glass storm door installed, so my kitties can see outside. They'd love that! Your flowers are amazing too! Wow!

  8. Everything is so lush....your window boxes look incredible!!! I bet the chandy looks beautiful lit up at night?!?! Our main goal for our garden is to just try to keep everything alive. It hasn't been this hot and dry in years!!!
    Have a great weekend!!!!!

  9. You moved it? Well, naturally I love it here too! It shows up great against the brick. What a difference in the pictures here from the first pictures when you bought the house. I bet it's all so pretty to someone walking up to the house at night.

  11. Wow! That looks great, Kris. It is perfect outside and you can always bring it in for the winter months if you want to keep it nice. I love that it lights up at night.

I can't BELIEVE how fantastic those window boxes are this year. Has to be from all the hot weather, rain and loving care you have given them.

Have a great weekend- xo Diana

  12. I think it looks wonderful outside. The lights from the little chandelier must be pretty in the evening.

Your flower boxes look great and so lush

Have a super weekend. A very wet and humid one here. Been like this for two weeks. Hard to take pictures, UGH

  13. Your new gardens have filled in nicely. You can't see my containers either, except for the plants the heat has about killed. I think the greenhouse is lovely. But in small spaces, I would think it would take up valuable space. But then I haven't seen the whole room at once I don't think.

  16. Kris you have an amazing green thumb! Every summer I love to see your flowers and plants! I am all shade and can barely keep things living. I have tried everything! Ferns do very well for me and that's it! Your place is looking gorgeous!

  17. Kris that's really cute. Try to get a shot just before dusk - that blue light hour - of that chandy lit up. I bet it's really pretty! Your bike! I love alyssum in the basket. all your flowers have a really pretty look in the green/chartreuse/yellow/white scheme. We're having sunshine again, can't believe it! But it's really hot, so that I believe. Enjoy your weekend.

  24. The front of your house is so beautiful with all your gardens and goodies to look at! Your plants are all just gorgeous. If I lived in your neighborhood, I would walk by just to see what was new. xoxo

  25. Your neighbors must love that you and Terry moved in and created such a pretty little cottage.

I envy you when you say everything is thriving. We haven't had rain since February and it is so hard to keep my garden pretty.

  26. This looks amazing! Love it! I agree with one of the other gals... can see it lit up for Christmas with little lights framing it, PLUS of course, the chandelier. How stunning that would be... or to see it snow covered (not too much though!). Your front garden and porch are so so sweet and inviting. If I drove by, I would slam on the brakes and wonder to myself, hum.m.m is this a sweet little shop that I can go into and browse around and be surrounded by wonderful cottage styles and furniture and chippy stuff??? I would absolutely swoon to have a shop like your home in our town!!!! My poor flowers here are doing NOTHING. Too hot and dry I guess and hardly an humidity. Some days it may only be 10% humidity. So you water, and an hour later, everything is dried out again. I long for the Oregon coast sometimes as everything is so lush there. Though I love your greenhouse outside, I also loved it inside by the window. Whatever you do, I love, so it's easy to please me (and everyone else too!). Hugs.. Marilyn

  27. Kris, the greenhouse is perfect outside. Everything is so lush and beautiful. You certainly know a thing or two about gardening!! Thanks for telling me about Mary's passing. It is so sad and I will miss her. We just got home last evening and even though Jake gave me his old Ipad I could receive messages but for some reason could not send anything in return..xxoJudy

  30. Kris, you have the biggest green thumb of anyone I know!

I loved the greenhouse inside but outside looks amazing too! I appreciate a piece that is versatile like that and I’m sure you do as well.

Heading to Europe today so may not be visiting much but enjoy the rest of your summer!

  31. Oh Kris, your comment, you made me cry tears of acceptance. Yep, we're all imperfect, and in a spiritual sense, yes, I'm a sinner, but a redeemed one, by grace. But like you, I feel that word is way too harsh of an utterance. I'll accept an apology, but first, I need an explanation of the offenses! Oh, how we must learn to do right by one another. Hey, lovin' your décor all over again here...

  32. Your garden is gorgeous! Of course, your flowers are white! Mine will be too, IF... I could stand the heat. Just can't do it.

  33. The shelf looks nice outside too. It’s great that you can move things around like that.
Your flowers look so full and green. Hydrangea is my favorite and would look pretty in the front.
    Hope you are enjoying August.
