Happy Halloween Week

As we head on down to Saturday and Halloween.  I thought I would share some pictures of my family dressed in their costumes for Halloween.

We will start with the grand dogs!!!

My younger daughter Kim's little Snickers dressed as a "Bee"

Snickers did not like the bee antenna that came with her costume so while my daughter was not looking guess who chewed up her antenna's!!!!!

They  have a costume parade and contest at her doggie day care this week.

These are my older daughter's three dogs.  Since their grandpa Terry is a fire chief and their daddy a firefighter/paramedic we thought it only fitting that they be fire trucks!

Charlie or as we call him "Char Char" is the 9 year old Boston Terrier.  You can almost see little Snickers in front of Charlie.  My daughter was giving out Halloween doggie treats to get them to stay all together in one spot.  Not an easy task with these 4.

Frank is the yellow lab and is 4 years old.

Bruce is the Great Dane and he is just under 2 years old.
I refer to Bruce as the walking couch or their pet horse.  He is 7'2" when he stands on his hind legs and weighs about 148lbs.  He is a big boy but such a lover.
Libby our dog is going as a basset hound for trick or treating!!!!  Yep she lives everyday thinking she is a person and not a dog, so she agreed to being a basset hound for Halloween!!!  Only for one day though!!!

This is my granddaughter Abby when we went to Boo At The Zoo last week end.  The kids wear their costumes to the zoo and they have all kinds of fun activities for them.
I did not get any other pictures of her in her costume that day.  I got so wrapped up in all the fun I forgot to get more pictures.  Bad grandma!!!

Abby's costume is Mal from the Disney show Decedents.  Very popular show and costume this year.

Have a great week and a safe and Happy Halloween on Saturday.  I will be featuring a fun blogger in Saturday's Halloween Spotlight so be sure to check back for that.
Have a great week.

  1. Good morning, Kris! I love all of these pictures of your sweet pups in their costumes. What an adorable face on that Snickers! And I know very well how difficult it is to get multiple dogs to pose for a pictures, especially when they have costumes on. I think it means that you are a fun grandma that you got wrapped in the activities with your granddaughter rather than taking pictures :) You have a great week too.

  2. Oh my goodness! Those grand-dogs gave me a wonderful laugh to get the day started off right. They are just too cute for words! And your granddaughter is absolutely precious...I love that sweet face peeking through. :-)

  3. Too funny Kris. Those dogs make me laugh...it's a wonder they didn't chew each other's costumes. Love little Abby's look. Squeeze her for me. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. Ha Ha made me laugh...especially the Basset Hound...some just don't like stuff like that. My friend's grey hound loves wearing costumes, she just thinks she is a 'lady' and the border collie, not so much---put something on him and we can't get a picture until it all falls off.Fun Post...Sandi

  6. Kris, those are the cutest! I especially love Libby's masquerade as a basset hound, lol! You've got to tell me where you found those firetruck costumes for the granddogs. I'm surprised my daughter hasn't already bought one for her Welsh terrier. And Snickers is so appropriately named - ohmygosh, don't you just want to eat him up?? He's so cute! Cuteness overload, this post is.

  7. How adorable Kris. Looks like fun for family and pups. My cats want nothing to do with costumes. But that doesn't mean I haven't tried over the years, ha ha.
    Happy Sunday my friend.

  13. Awww look at them! I will have to dress up my Tia for halloween, maybe one of those spider costumes. I can't wait to do my house up ready for the trick or treaters. We have lots of fun each year in my street and go overboard with the preparations. Have a great Halloween xx

  18. Love the firetruck costumes!!! So cute how they all match! I love how the youngest one is the biggest. Snickers is adorable in the bee costume too! I had to laugh at how she chewed up her antenna! Sweet Libby will make a great basset hound for Halloween. Even if it is only for a day. ;) I love that your zoo has that event for kids. So fun to watch their excitement!

  24. I'm so glad to see a new picture of Snickers! This dachshund mother could just steal all her sugar--or honey! The firetrucks are so cool and what an accomplishment to get a good picture of all them at one time. And Libby is her own beautiful self, which is plenty fine. I'm not familiar with pretty Abby's Mal character but I'm sure my little granddaughters can tell me all about it!

Happy Halloween to all your little trick-or-treaters, Kris, and to you,
    Dewena

  25. They are all precious, Kris. We had a daschund long ago. And we had a great dane. The dane was huge.....her back to my waist, but she was the sweetest of the two. She and I went to doggie school and I could walk her all over our small town at heel without a leash. The only dog in town allowed in the library, she would go behind the desk and lie down while I spent forever in the stacks. The ladies all loved her. We also had a gorgeous yellow lab and now have a black lab. Guess we're all part of the canine family. Oops, excuse me, Libby. You are definitely a people.
Abby is just a darling little girl and I can tell you enjoy her.

  27. Oh my gosh, Kris, those costumes are hilarious!! (I was tempted to say "howl-arious"!!) And who would have thought Libby was going as a Basset Hound??? Abby is a cutie pie!

  28. Hahaha. Libby is such a princess. Way too dignified for all that costume nonsense. LOL Oh, but Snickers is so adorable in her bee costume, and the boys make great fire trucks. Cute photo of Abby. xo

  30. So cute!

We don't usually get many trick or treaters, but with Halloween on a Saturday this year, we think we'll get quite few kids this year. So Steve and I are working on fun costumes to wear as we open the door.

  31. Good morning Kris! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA That little bee and those firetrucks crack me up. And Miss Libby has a charm that glows. Enjoy the week!

  33. Awwwwww! So cute! I of course loved the fire trucks. We have a costume for our dog Max (a spider) but we don't use it often. It is cute to have him wear it to greet the trick or treaters at the door though.

  34. Ha! Thanks for my morning smile today - so cute. And the bassett hound costume is verrrryyyy convincing and lifelike, lol! Jane

  41. I tried dressing my cats in costume once but they would not stand up. Kept falling over whenever I propped them up. Not cooperative at all.

  42. Hi Kris! I LOVE the doggie costumes! Snickers is so cute as a little bee, even if she did eat her antennae thingies! The firetrucks are perfect! What a cool idea! The dogs are great too - I love doggies! You know? Libby makes such a convincing basset hound, I'd never guess she wasn't one! Wow! Such talent she has! A true character actress! LOL! Your little Abby looks precious! I'm not familiar with the character but the glasses make me think it's vintage style. Maybe you can get a chance to take a full costume pic of her this weekend. You're not a bad grandma, just forgetful :) I've actually done that before. I get so involved in what the kids are doing and then realize I didn't take pictures! Argh! Enjoy your Halloween! Hugs, Leena

  51. These dogs are adorable!! I had 3 at one point and it was a trip ~ :) I honestly don't think that well loved dogs have any clue they're not human. My boy has not a clue, that's for sure! Shortly after I got him, the apts where I lived then had a contest for the dogs. We got donuts, had coffee and apple cider, etc. My little guy went as a fire hydrant! Cutest costume ever ~ :) He's much older now and wouldn't tolerate it.

Have a fun weekend ~ I can only imagine the excitement Abby will have!

  52. The doggy costumes made me laugh! And how good of Libby to be so agreeable about her costume :) I dressed my dog as a pumpkin a few times. This year, she's not wearing a costume, but she is answering the door to help me hand out candy.

  53. Your pooches (and grand pooches) are just too darn cute! My youngest son is a teenager, and decided he wouldn't trick or treat this year. I'll admit, I felt kinda depressed today, realizing that for the first time in more than 20 years, I don't have anyone to take trick or treating. I need some grand kids quick! :)
