Trying to Get My Fall Mojo On

Happy Sunday.

I am slowly getting my fall decor going.  It is still summer here in Illinois but with the nights getting cooler and days in the 70's I know fall is just around the corner.

I do not do much for fall.  Christmas is my season to really decorate but I am trying to put out some fall.

It was fun to start to pull out some of my fall decor and remember the special gifts I got last year from fellow bloggers.  This sweet glass pumpkin was sent to me last year by Diana from Nana Diana Takes A Break Blog.  She also added some yummo Brach's corn candies but they did not make it from last year.  Hmmmm wonder what happen to them?!

Love to keep my fall decor neutral.  No darker oranges or reds for me.  They are gorgeous for fall but just not my style.

Neutral wheat stalk and sunflowers along with some of my pumpkins.

Even my bird in his cage got some cute little sweater pumpkins.  These were sent to me by Susan from Must Love Junk.  Aren't they so cute.
I got this fun fall pumpkin from Sweet Magnolia Farms last year.  Love their beautiful pumpkins and how Sara uses old pieces of vintage things in her pumpkins for stalks.

These sweet pumpkins were made by Becky at Timewashed.  I have collected pretty pumpkins from her Etsy shop for a few years.  Love her sweet pumpkins.

This sweet owl pillow was made and sent to me by Judy 20 North Ora last year.  He made me smile when I opened up my box of fall decor.  Such a sweet face.

I love the sweater pumpkins with added lace and vintage buttons.
Some dried hydrangea and baby's breath on my cutting board in the kitchen.

I just added a few fabric pumpkins to my gathering basket in the kitchen.

I did a fall vignette on my dining room table with pumpkins from Michaels and my old yellow chippy watering can with neutral fall flowers.

So I started my fall decor.  I am sure I will be adding a few more things here and there. Even with summer flowers still blooming outside I did start some fall on the front porch too.  Have a great start to the new week.

  7. Your fall decor is amazing. Usually fall decorations are all shades of orange and red and yours are white. I do admire your being so consistent about white:-)

  13. Your touches of fall are beautiful!!!! I don't decorate for fall either because orange is definitely NOT my color. I used to decorate the outside but the wind is so bad that everything got blown away or broken so I finally gave up out of frustration. You have a great collection of pumpkins....I love the sweater one!!!!!! Have a great week!!!!

  16. The decor is beautiful. I prefer fall light also, and although I love colors, they don't look right in my home, because it's still summer temps until November. xoxo Su

  23. Hi Kris, I hear you on fall decor.... With ThanksGiving around the corner and preparing for Christmas it's all I can keep up with to create for a Joyeux Noël .... Fall here is setting the stage for a white holiday, I see it coming, that is if you are not packing during this time in a quick sale and escrow?

Love the white rubber boots. And the wreath, it can stay taking you right through winter.

  24. I always know I'm in for a treat when I visit here, Kris. I don't think anyone would ever have the inclination to be mean or misbehave when they walk into your serene home. You have such a gift for making white and neutral still be ever so cozy.

I think you should be prepared for potential house hunters wanting you to sell your home furnished!

I hope someone buys it who will love it as much as you two have,

  26. I like neutral Fall décor for my home too. Although I don't mind the bright sunflowers against all my white. I love your sweater pumpkins! I've been to a few stores lately that have cute white pumpkins for sale with the natural stems. May have to get me some. Wish it was cool in the 70's here in GA but it got back up into the 90's this weekend. Ugh! Mother nature has been changing her mind a lot lately. Don't know how to dress without checking the weather forcast daily.

  27. I would not even know where to start decorating for Fall with white, but you seem to have such a knack for it, that your whole house feels like Fall! There's not even any orange or yellow or red! It all looks amazing!!

  28. No fall decorating for me...with days still in the 90's, fall isn't on my mind. I, like you, wait mostly for Christmas...:)
I will put out a few pumpkins and that's about it.
    Your fall decor is lovely......

Have a great week and hopefully you will still have great weather. It was 104 here today ... help.. I am sick of this HOT WEATHER.

  35. Kris! You and I both; I never got into the fall decorating because nature always does a good enough job for that! But this year, I did get a few white pumpkins and a blue pumpkin for the house. It does add! But like you, our summer has been prolonged. Yesterday however, it started to get a bit chilly and we got some rain, but the colors have not truly showed up. Your displays look great, however! Have a super day my friend, Anita

  37. Wow, Kris, you have a lot of those textured pumpkins, and I love them! You know what I like best about them? They're squishy, and so easy to store! That owl pillow from Judy is just way too cute. I think I'll pop over to her store and see if she's making any of those this year. ;)

  53. Although you wouldn't know it if you visited my home, neutral really are my favorite. But not just any neutrals. Neutrals with texture, romance, and creativity. Sounds like YOUR home Kris.

I read your other post about depersonalizing your home. For some reason I couldn't comment there so I'll tell you it drives me BONKERS when people won't buy a home because of the decor! Truly. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. How short sighted is that?!

Hang in there. Sooner or later buyers with some semblance of imagination will arrive.

  54. So pretty! I really love the fall colors as they signal the new season, but I also love how these neutrals look! So soft and sweet! Great pumpkin collection! I have a few fabric pumpkins and a bunch of the ones from Michaels too! I even have a leopard print one! I just can't ignore my wild side! LOL! Last year, or the year before, I cut the tops off a bunch of the Michaels pumpkins and filled them with dirt and little mum plants. I may have to dig those out if I kept them and do them again! I had a variety of sizes and they were so cute! Enjoy your decorations - they look wonderful! Hugs, Leena

Thank you. I got the grey gingham at Ikea. They sell this material by the yard there and they also have a few things made up in this fabric too. Hope that helps.
