New Project

Happy Valentine's Day

Sweet Terry brought me home this beautiful bouquet of love.  Each Valentine's Day he brings me a bouquet of all my favorite flowers.  Hydrangea's, pink carnations and beautiful white roses.  Reminds me that Spring and Summer are hopefully around the corner soon for us here in the midwest.

I am working on a new project to show you soon.  What on earth is this you ask?  Well stay tuned and I will be showing you soon what this will be transformed and re loved into.  Peggy my design assistant is curious too!

I will give you a hint.  These were made in the early 60's by a company right here in Chicago called Saginaw.  I have been looking for one of these pieces for awhile.  They are rare to find in great condition like this one was.  I had to drive to Fondulac Wisconsin about a 2.5 hour drive from where I live in Illinois to snatch up this piece.  It was well worth the trip in a snow storm I might add to get this beautiful piece of history.

As you have heard me say we are learning to live small and utilize and be creative with the space we have.   We are working creatively so this tiny house can accommodate our needs.  This piece is going to be a great piece to have in this tiny cottage home.

Stay tuned hopefully this weekend I will have this piece ready to show in it's new re loved style.

Terry and his mighty tools have been working hard on this piece to make it new and pretty for our cottage decor.

Have a beautiful day.  Happy Valentine's Day.
xoxo
Kris

  7. Can’t wait to see what you are up to! It reminds me of a server I had but I don’t see a split top so I’m guessing at what it’s purpose was! Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day- love the flowers from Terry. 💐

  8. Kris, Your Terry is a real sweetheart. It makes me smile to read that he remembers your favorite flowers. Such a pretty bouquet too. I will admit as soon as I saw that "brown " piece of furniture I laughed, thinking oh Kris has a new project. You crack me up girl. But then hey, I can not wait to see what it becomes. LOL. Blessings for a happy Valentine's day. xoxo, Susie

  16. I believe your mid-century piece of furniture might have housed a console television or stereo but I might be wrong. I did see a clue where it said "Warwick Electronics" on the side manufactures sticker.

Cant wait to see how you re-purpose and transform this piece. I have seen many of the vintage console stereos and televisions made into bars.

  21. I already love the look of the piece with it's arched panels. I can almost see how it might look after this weekend, but I know it will be so much 'more' than I can imagine. Enjoy the process and I look forward to the reveal.

I miss my Mark, who could do things, I was his helper. I do the best I can and ask God for strength and energy to do what I can. You and Terry inspire me and remind me of what I had. Lots of good memories and projects surround me here.

  23. That is a very pretty cabinet as it is but I know it will be spectacular when you are finished with it! I haven't been in Fond du Lac in years...always thought it was a pretty town. Our neighbors are moving into your neck of the woods, I think around Schaumburg. Gorgeous, gorgeous flowers with a special meaning just for you. Not only is your hubs a very talented craftsman, he is a romantic. xoxo

  26. Too bad I never found a "Terry!" He's a winner. Gorgeous flowers. I'm happy to see Peggy looks right at home, even on your pretty white furniture. I always think of pets as family members, which means they sit on furniture!
