Progress!!

The sun is coming out after the storm.  Yeah!!!!  After all the disappointment in the floor situation and delays on the garage build we finally are on a good path.  I am almost afraid to type that for fear of jinxing something!!!

We have been looking at this scenario way too long.   Piles of dirt and stuff everywhere!  I have to laugh because that round table was left at the house when we purchased it and we have not done anything to donate it or throw it away.  It has stood up to all the work going on out in the back.  Poor little table.

Yep! love seeing worker bee's busy in the backyard!

Yeah!!! garage footings and floor poured!  Ahhhh we have waited 6 weeks for this day!

After weeks of permit wrangling and worker crew issues and final inspections we now have the garage footings and floors poured.  Now this has to sit and cure for 7 more days and then the garage can be built.

Oh how I cannot wait to be showing you decor pics of chippy whites and cottage decor galore.

Soon I hope to show something cottage and cute going on and not cement pics!

As soon as the garage is finished and the new driveway installed we should be able to move in.  Probably about 3 more weeks.

The floor guys have been busy installing the new floors and new moldings inside the house so I hope they will be done by tomorrow and out of my house forever!!!!

There is so much dust everywhere from the tearing out of the floor and then the cutting and installation of the new floors.  So I am going to have to spend a lot of time in there cleaning down the new appliances, walls and blinds and windows.  Ugh!!!

Hoping to have some sweet floor pics to share with you this weekend.  Keeping my fingers crossed I will not see the floor guys there on Saturday when I arrive at the house!

Have a great weekend ahead.
Hugs,
Kris

  12. Kris, Hooray...that garage floor looks awesome and it's a big start. I like what you said about watching worker bees. I remember a saying, "Work fascinates me, I could watch it all day." LOL I think soon you and Terry will be the worker bees...remember you are the Queen.:):) I am getting excited for you. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. Wow, Kris, that's terrific!! Oh, I know, construction seems to take FOREVER!! You just want to move in, get settled, and put it in the past! Mine lasted 8 months, but I lived in the house through it....in the guest room. Hey I saved 8 months of rent, so it was worth it!

  18. Oh it looks like a nice big garage is going to be there and they did a nice job with the flatwork. That garage will go up fast now once you are past the 7 day curing! I bet the house will look so great to you once you walk in and see the floors and trim all done. Have a great weekend- it's looking like a beauty here in Michigan!

  23. How exciting to FINALLY see some work going on! Just be glad you aren't LIVING in the house while all that work is being done inside! I did that two different places.. lived in it while finishing building.. and the dust was horrible. You have had to be very patient my friend! I feel for you... so hard to be patient when chomping at the bit to get to the fun stuff (decorating) and settling in. Can hardly wait for you to get to that point and am excited to see all that you do here at JCCIII! You and Terry are DEFINITELY worker bees too! Enjoy the weekend! Marilyn

  28. While that cement and outdoor space really shows the progress, I just got the willies in my stomach when you started talking about dust on your NEW appliances and the rest of the house! Oh my gosh, That would be what I'd call one of those drinking days as opposed to ice cream. :O Wax on, wax off! Groundhog day, and all that!

  29. Good for you! I love your enthusiasm! Keep up the great progress and keep us posted. And seriously, Kris...I think you can come up with a DIY project for that table!!! Surprise us!
