Kitchen Table

Hi Everyone.

Hope your 4th was great and safe.  We had a great day just hanging out as a family with some bbq and swimming.  Low Key Day!  Loved it.

I was minding my own business one day in a Tuesday Morning store and came across this lovely little bistro table with lots of character.  It was a dark wood no worries I had some white paint and it spilled all over it!

I loved the chippy detail to this sweet little table for my VERY little cottage eating space!  Those parson chairs are bare right now.    I cannot wait to show you the new slipcovers I am having made for these chairs.  I think you will be surprised to see what fabrics I chose for these sweet chairs.  Hopefully those will be arriving soon to show you.
In the meantime the kitchen and eating area are coming together.  Counter tops are in and new sink is in.

The plumber working on the laundry room and bathroom in the basement needs to put a hole in this kitchen wall so I will wait to paint this wall.  I thought about the darker wallpaper for this wall but it was too much of a commitment!!! soooo I will just paint it when the plumber is done.

I think my chippy white decor from my last kitchen will be fun to incorporate into this kitchen.

Have a great rest of the week.
xoxo
Kris

  1. Kris, What a cute table...imagine you having white paint. LOL I love the counter tops. I have been wanting that kind of counter forever...just keep dropping hints to Ted...seems I may have to start demanding. :):) I don't like to give him too big a work load. Hope to see you this weekend. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. That table is darling! That would be me explaining to hubby why something all the sudden got painted. Ooops, I spilled some paint and figured why not paint the rest. LOL

  6. Kris, I love the table you found! It has so many cute details especially with the white spilled on it. We are trying to decide what works and what doesn't in this house. I want to buy as little as possible...you know? :)

Loving the peeks at your new home. I know it feels great to be there!

  8. Nice table. I have a farm table and looking to make things a bit less crowded so I am THINKING about down sizing to a table that sits two. I might have to make one since I want it to have a country look vibe! Great paint job.

  9. It all looks great. The table is perfect and I can't wait to see the slipcovers. I was thinking about your new desire to add color. You seem to be drawn to that dark wallpaper, but I totally get that it's a huge commitment, especially for such a neutral loving girl. What about getting a yard or two of that wallpaper in fabric (or a very similar pattern) and making (or have made) a throw pillow or two for contrast. This way you can have that pretty pattern around, but you can also recover or toss them in the closet if it's overwhelming after all....just a thought. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

  10. It looks good, my friend! You're getting there. You might consider removable wallpaper for maybe one wall?

  17. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! What a great solution, this little table! Just enough for you and Terry. And the wallpaper, I DO LOVE that gray with the pattern but you are right; I too probably wouldn't do it because I know what it's like to take off wall paper. It's a BEAR!

Everything is coming along just fine, isn't it! I can't wait for each season of your cottage!

  18. I love that table Kris! We have a small bistro table in our screened in porch that we've had for many years, and it's one of the VERY few pieces we will be bringing with us when we move. Cute story...Sarissa was probably about 6 when we bought it, using a friend's pickup truck. The store put the table in the back of the truck and away we went. We were driving on I 95 when a cab driver was trying to get our attention, then I noticed the table was gone from the truck! We got off the next exit and turned around and looked for it. Picture two adults and a child at night with a flashlight off the interstate in the woods looking for something. lol We finally found it in the brush, mangled of course. We went back to the store a couple of days later and got a replacement. It was really their fault for not securing it correctly, which is why it went flying at the first bump. A few weeks later Sarissa started school and they asked everyone in the class what they did over the summer. Now, that summer we had taken her to Disney as well as Lake George, but what does she say? 'The table fell off the truck'. :/

I'm thinking you're going to do some color on those chairs? ;).

  19. And so it starts...Kris in decorating mode. Yay! Cutest little table ever! That dark wallpaper would look fabulous on that wall. 😉 You've got me on pins and needles! Will Kris actually bring color into her home? Haha, I think you just might. It's going to be beautiful.

  23. Looks like you are making some progress in the new space! Love that table! Can't wait to see what you will do wit the chairs. I saw on a blog (can't remember which one) where the person didn't want to commit to wallpaper so she paint her accent wall and found a stencil similar to the pattern se chose and you couldn't even tell it wasn't wallpaper. After stripping mmy bathroom wallpaper I vowed no more wallpaper for me!

  29. That is such a cute table. I like it in white. I miss our Tuesday Morning- they left back when the economy was tanking around 2009. I hear rent is high in our area so that was likely the reason. Looks like the kitchen is going to have a totally new feel to it! (Psst- I like that wallpaper!).
