Happy Holiday Week End

Wishing you all a wonderful and safe holiday week end.  It is bittersweet for me.  Love the holiday long week end but sad that it is the sign of summer leaving us.

I love fall but sad to see Summer ending.

Speaking of Fall!  I have not started my decor change ups for fall yet but I wanted to share with you some new finds I got last week to help when I begin the fall decor.

Just cannot let go of summer just yet!!!!

When I do let go of summer and start my fall decor I have this lovely and sweet farmhouse pumpkin to join the decor.
This is one of Abby and Sara's creations from Sweet Magnolia Farms.  Love the creative and unique treasures the girls come up with.  If you have not seen their Etsy Shop you must jump over there.  You will love everything they do.  Plus their blog is pretty special too.

Old spindle tool handle for the stalk and sweet feed sack for the base.  Each of their farmhouse fall pumpkins are unique and one of a kind.

When I went to Morris last week with a friend to spend the day, my sweet friend gifted me with these lovely fabric pumpkins at one of my fave shops in Morris called Whimsy.  Traci has the most unique and beautiful pieces for sale in her shop. Love going in her sweet shop.

Of course my new Harvest Angel from Cathy will be part of the fall decor too.

Hope your holiday week end is going great.  It is always nice to have that extra day off for a long week end.
Just trying to hold onto the last few days of summer.

Have a great new week ahead.
Kris

  1. Cute, Kris! I love the fabric pumpkins for decorating fall indoors. My garden is definitely showing signs of the end of summer - lots of yellowing in the leaves in container flowers, and spent blooms in the perennial beds. How are yours holding up? Your containers always seem to do so well for so long, and I was thinking about you yesterday while I was in my garden. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Kris.

  4. The pumpkins are sweet as ever I just made 3 this week, getting ready for fall. It already feels like fall at my place. The leaves are changing and the temps are around 60. We are staying home all weekend. I'm catching up on blogging before I start school on Tuesday.

  7. Kris,
I too am with you with a bit of reluctance to give up enjoyment of Summertime. I have decided I will slowly ease into Fall. Fall is such a wonderful time of year ... Maybe just maybe eyes, fingers and toes crossed Winter will be mild this year.

You always discover the most unique treasures to sprinkle throughout your charming cottage. Your pumpkins are perfect and will look lovely in your creamy white palate I adore.

Kris enjoy the Labor Day weekend and thank you my friend for making my Birthday weekend extra special with your sweet gift.
    XO,
    Vera

  8. Fall cannot come quick enough for me and RAIN also. I am so tired of trying to save water.
Your lovely fall decor is so pretty and I really love your fall angel. I have been wanting to get in the garage and start getting some of my Fall decorations out, but it's to bloody hot in there. You have a great start for Fall with your pretty new decorations.
Have a fun and safe Labor Day Kris.

  10. I love all your fun fall finds ready for decorating.

I am not ready for summer to end in fact, our warm weather has just arrived. But, I have come up with some ideas for a decor change that isn't "fallish" since we won't really get fall for several month.

  11. You've got a head start on autumn decorating with your sweet finds, Kris! I love all your fabric pumpkins, and now I want to scrounge up some supplies to make some of my own! It's gray and gloomy here and definitely feeling like fall. As much as I love autumn, I always get a case of the blues for the summer that's gone by much to quickly! Enjoy every sunshiney moment we have left, Kris, and keep cheering us up with your bright whites!

  15. Although fall has crossed my mind, I have yet to think about decorating as it is still SO HOT here, 113 yesterday, a bit cooler today, 108. I look forward to celebrating fall with so many blog friends who Don't live in the desert! It will be a pleasure to watch you decorate this year as I don't believe I was following your blog until the first of this year, so I missed all of your holiday decor! Can't wait!!! Blessings!

  25. Hi Kris! Love the new pumpkins and your beautiful angel! They will be perfect when time to decorate for fall rolls around. I feel like you do. I hate to see summer go. I never feel like I've had enough of it, but the little ones go back to school tomorrow and the pool closed today so I guess it's that time. BIG SIGH! At least Jim and I are going to the beach later this month, so that will keep summer alive for me for a few more weeks! Hope you enjoyed your long weekend! Hugs, Leena

  26. Well, you can always come visit me in the deep south if you start having Fall weather too early. We will still be hot for awhile yet. It has been in the 90's here. I love your new pumpkins that you were gifted. So pretty! I also love the one you bought with the burlap flower. Those will fit in perfectly in your home for Fall.

  27. I too am sad to see summer go, but looking forward to cooler days and nights. I LOVE socks but am tired of wearing them because the air conditioning is too cold...hehehe! My sunflowers are still gorgeous in the garden, would love to cut them and bring them in, but I so enjoy them out there and love to sit on the deck and look at them, hope they last a little longer! Love all your new pumpkins and your newest little angel. I went through my kit for Grace, her wings are gorgeous feathers all put together, her hair is in a baggie and you have to fix it yourself and her face is a template... good thing I know how to paint and sew. I still LOVE her and need to get her done... kick my butt in gear will you girl! Wish you could get to Minnesota for about a month... or a year. I have a beautiful guest room that you could work off your room and board, rearranging and giving me décor advice... a girl can dream can't she!
