Angel Wings And A New Free Coffee Table

Just a sweet little post today.  While shopping at Home Goods with a friend we found these sweet angel wings.  They are so chippy and so so sweet.

I put them on my  garden table by my front door.  They are pure cement and weigh a ton.  Just love the chippy grey coming through.  Gotta love Home Goods.

My friend and I have an agreement that when ever we are going to not use a piece we have we ask each other if they might want it before we give it away. Basically we shop each others homes when we feel a change up coming on LOL!  This way it is a new piece and free.

Remember this  coffee table I made out of the chairs.   It was a little to massive for the space and she had the coffee table in the above picture.  So we decided to swap.  Her table looks perfect in my space and actually had a similar finish to match the other pieces on my room.  She has a french country farmhouse living room she will put this table in.  It will look so sweet in her room.

I also had these valances I bought at one of my fav shops the Feathered Nest in Morris.  I was not able to use them on the window I had bought them for so I thought I would use them to bling up this table a little bit.

I also got this little bench at a thrift shop and painted the legs white and then added the burlap and burlap trim to it.

It is in my entry way in front of the old gate for right now until I find a new home for it.

My friend Sandy had given me this beautiful bird feeder for my birthday.  She bought it  from Jeanine's Chippy Shabby booth at a show she attended.  Sandy knows how much I  love Jeanine's chippy shabbies  so Sandy thought I would love this piece from Jeanine.  I really do.  Too pretty and so me.

I filled it with some garden items and a pretty nest.  Look at it's sweet little legs.  I love this piece. So a big hug and thank you to Jeanine for selling this piece to Sandy and big hugs to my wonderful friend Sandy for getting this for me.

Have a great rest of the week and be sure to come back on Saturday for Spotlight.  Susan and I will have two unique bloggers for you to get to know better.

  12. Putting that valance around your 'free' coffee table was so creative, I don't know how you come up with these great ideas. You should put out a little book entitled Furniture Surprises! I love the gathering of spring lovelies in the little bird feeder.

  15. What a great idea to swap with your friend. I have a friend that we also do that. She is always changing more so than I do, so if her girls can't use it or don't like it then I am offered the item and I just received some great items not to long ago.
Love all the changes you made - I like the coffee table better - the other one I liked also but this one fits better in your living room.
You bird feeder is beautiful and looks great with the items you have in there.
Have a great week Kris. Hope FIL is doing much better.

  21. I need to start that swap thing with a sister or two! I really like those concrete wings - perfect size. For someone who claims they don't sew, you sure have a knack for transforming fabric into fabulous, Kris. Seriously - it looks tailor-made and very nice.

  33. Kris,
A visit to your blog never disappoints! It delights with creatively thought out ideas and changes. Love the angel wings, being made from cement you can even enjoy them outdoors in a garden setting. You did a cute job on the bench, the birthday bird feeder is oh so sweet and someone to swap things around with sounds like a brilliant idea.

  36. always fun to see what you are up to in restylin' your home Kris. Love your sweet angel wings. I bought a pair of huge angel wings from Decor Steals thinking I will use them this Christmas in decorating but in the meantime I hung them over the bed in my granddaughters' bedroom. They work perfectly in there to go along with my two darling little "angels". Ha! My youngest son said they look spooky...LOL....oh well. xoxo It's been raining heavily here for three days and stormy too. I am heading out to get my hair done this morning. The rain and humidity will turn it into a frizz ball soon as I leave the salon. :)

  42. Oh wow! Those wings are gorgeous! I was at Home Goods last week and they didn't have any at the store here. You know if they did I would have snatched them up! I can't believe you traded your beautiful table! I do like that one you got in trade and what you did with it is really cute! You always have such wonderful vision for pieces and what to do with them. Love that little stool too! I have a similar one that I picked up at a yard sale. I think it's a vanity bench and it swivels, but Jim didn't think it was sturdy enough for our bathroom. Actually, all furniture around here does get a work out with the kids climbing up to reach the sink and stuff, so I am planning on recovering the seat (it has a greyish velvet like fabric now but has paint or something on it). It's in may garage with all of the other furniture projects I need to attend to. Anyway, love that little bird feeder and the arrangement you put in it. I have one similar to it too! Just wish I had all of my stuff together like you do! OK, I'll stop rambling now :) Hugs, Leena

Can't wait to get into the mix of things soon~~~Blessings~~~~Roxie
