Dressing Up the Lamp shades

I did an easy DIY today and dressed up my two plain white lamp shades.  I used a little burlap and some bling burlap flowers.

I bought this burlap ruffle and thought I might use it on a few things around the house.  Was not sure what but just loved this burlap.

I had these plain white lamp shades I have been hanging onto until I could find new ones.  So I thought since I have not been able to find any new ones I like...... I will just dress these up with some of that burlap.

Got out the hot glue gun and glued the ruffle around the center of the lamp shade.

I had some burlap left over so I made some flowers and added a little bling to each one and glued them to the burlap on the shade.

So now I have dressed up the lampshades without a lot of fuss.  Easy Peasy fix to plain ole white shades.

Have a great week.
Kris

  8. Well Kris, you have done it again! I absolutely love the ruffle burlap! What a great fix to your lampshade. And I know what you mean about not being able to find some that you like. I've been on the hunt lately. I can also relate you your dining room table being your "studio/craft" room. At least, for me, It makes me HAVE to clean up when I'm done so my people can eat supper. Hope you have a great week friend!

  14. Too, too cute! I like that there is a strip of burlap around the shade instead of fully covering it with burlap. The strip makes a statement.

    You are so clever.

  15. Looks great Kris. I have the same problem - can't find the shades I need and I was going to cover them with fabric, now you have given me some ideas.
Hopefully Spring has arrived in Chicagoland. Been busy re-potting with some pretty flowers.
    Have a terrific week.

    1. Hi Lucy,
I actually got this ribbon at a little shop I frequent. She only had a couple of rolls of it. I just thought it was so unique and have never seen it before. Sorry I could not tell you it was from Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics or Hobby Lobby that would make it easier but it was from a little shop.

  32. Well done, Kris!

Funny that sometimes the easier things give us the most "pop" or bang for our buck.

If you were to even be able to find anything like that for sale it'd go for plenty, for sure - looks great.

    Hugs.
