Girlfriend Party and Winners in the Giveaway

Good Morning.  Hope your week end is going great.  It is that busy time of the year  for getting ready for the holidays.

I wanted to share a couple of pictures from my annual Girlfriend Charity Party from last night.

I do a party every year and invite all my girlfriends to come.  Everyone brings a beautiful grab bag gift where the proceeds from buying this gift go to a charity.  I am always amazed each year on all the beautiful gifts everyone finds that are not only amazing gifts to receive but they give back to wonderful charities.

I have been doing this party for many years and each year I look so forward to gathering my best buds together and sharing a evening of fun, good food and drink and most of all sharing our love for each other.  In this world it is so nice to be able to be blessed with the wonderful gift of friendship.

I have known most of these ladies for almost all my adult life and I feel so blessed to call each of them friend.  They are a special loving and caring group of women.

This year was really special for me too because both my daughters were able to come to the party and invite their best buds to join us.  It was fun to have my friends and thiers all enjoying each other's company.

We always have the best appetizers.  Everyone brings their favorite appetizer to share.

We play games and laugh and just have a great time.  Everyone wears their favorite Christmas PJ's.  You need to be comfy to have fun and eat and eat and eat some more.

These are a couple of my best buds.  Val won the contest for cutest pj's with her Cat in The Hat Christmas Pj's.  They were too cute.

We eat, drink and laugh and just have a wonderful evening together.  I get so caught up in being a hostess that I forget to take pictures.  I wish I had remembered to take pictures of the beautiful gifts that everyone brought for the exchange.  Maybe I will remember for next year.

Our theme for this year's party was Acts of Kindness.  It was so nice to have everyone share their acts of kindness that they do for others.  Lot's of tears were shed when everyone shared the wonderful generous and loving things they have done for others this year.

It was a beautiful evening full of fun and love.
Now I wanted to annouce the winners of the Give Away.

Let me start by saying I loved, no LOVED reading all your loving acts of kindness.  They were all so beautiful and heart warming.  It is amazing all the beautiful souls out there in blogland that take the time to care so deeply for others.  I really loved reading all the stories.

I put all the names into a hat and picked them out.  I was so touched by all your stories I could not stand it so I ordered a few more of the junk totes to bling up so I could give more away.  That is my act of kindness to all of you.  So the talented Amy sent me out some more so I could have more to give away.  When they arrive I will bling them up and get them out to all of you that got your names picked.

Thanks to each and everyone of you for sharing your beautiful acts of kindness.  I wish I could have given each and everyone of you a tote.  You are all loving caring people and deserve to win.  So to the 9 lucky ones below please send me your mailing address and email to my email below.

Happy Holidays Give Away

Happy Holidays

I love this time of year.  Getting the house decorated, picking out the perfect gift, wrapping and baking.  I love it all.

This is a time of year when I love to pay things forward and do random acts of kindness too.  It just makes you feel so good to help others.

So I decided to do a giveaway for all you lovely bloggers that have supported me and have become bloggie friends.

I love getting to know all of you through comments and emails and your blogs.  It has been a fun year and half for me in blogland.

So I am giving away these lovely Junking totes.  I got them on a site called www.junkloveandco.com.  If you have a chance check out this site.   Amy the talent behind this Etsy Shop  makes some pretty cute things.  Thank you Amy for making these totes and letting me finish them with some  bling for this give away.

Don't you just love the saying on these totes.  This is the motto I have hanging in my office.  So true!!!!

When Amy sent them to me I felt like I needed to bling them up a little bit so with her permission I went in my craft basket and came up with this button trim and decided to add it to the totes to make this give away have a little of my crafty side in it too.

The buttons just give this already cute bag a little more bling.

All you have to do is leave a comment on a random act of kindness you have done for someone and that is it.

You will be entered in the drawing and I will love reading about the special thing you did for someone else.  We are all so blessed in so many ways and to pay it forward to others is so kind, caring and loving.  So please share with me your act or acts of kindness and you will be entered to win.

Have a wonderful finish to the week and a lovely week end.
Happy Shopping, wrapping, decorating and baking.  I will post the winners of the totes over the week end.

Oh, One More Thing:
I have to say I have one of the best hubby's out there.  I got my Grace Angel last year for Christmas from him (you can see her below)  and this year he got me another one.  Cathy from Cheswick Company on Etsy makes these one of a kind Angels.
This is Amazing Grace I got last year.  Cathy does such beautiful work.  Each Angel is unique and one of a kind. She finds vintage Christening gowns to dress her angels.  I love Grace I keep her out all year long.

My newest Angel from Cathy.  I love her vintage Christening gown and her little vintage sweater.

It is hard to capture a good picture of her in this snow wreath on my front window.  She is beautiful and has a gold sparkle crown which is hard to see.  I have to name her and have not come up with a name yet.  Any ideas?
You will see more of Grace and this newest little angel in my Christmas Decor Link Party on Monday December 9th.
Be sure to come back to view my Christmas tour and the five other bloggers joining in on the Christmas tour next week and be sure to join in the party with your pretty Christmas decor inspiration.

Have a wonderful week.  I will draw out the winners of the give away this week end.

Dollar Store Snowman Candy Jars

Just a quick little craft.  I know everyone is really busy with shopping, cleaning, baking etc. but I wanted to show you this cute little idea I got when I purchased one of these at Junk Jubilee.  I decided to try and make my own version of these snowman jars.

The snowman mason jar I bought for my sample was blue and had a sticker face in black.  You can see it on the table.  I decided to go to the dollar store and see what I could find to make a similar snowman ball jar.
I found the red and white string and the gloves at the dollar store.  The little mason jars and batting I got at Walmart and the bells I found at Michaels.
The Sharpie's and paint markers I had but you can find these at Michaels or Walmart.  The paint markers tend to run if not careful so sometimes it is easier to use the sharpie.  It is permanent and does not run like the paint markers.
Here is my version of the snowman ball jars.  I put the glove on the jar lid stuffed with some of the batting to give the look of a hat.  The sample jar I bought used the other glove for the stuffing.  I thought the batting was a better idea and this way I could get two snowman jars out of one pair of gloves.

I tied off the fingers of the glove with the red string and strung a couple of bells on each string.  Then I just paint the faces on the jars.  Pretty easy and now I can fill these with little chocolate candies and give them as gifts for Christmas.  They would be really cute with red and white peppermint candies too.

The glove is not glued to the lid this way you can easily remove the hat to get at the candy.  Then just pop the glove/hat back on the snowman jar.

These would make great teacher, neighbor, or friend gifts.

Pretty easy to make less than 15 minutes to put a couple of these together and cost about $3.50 each to make.

Hope your Christmas decorating and gift buying and baking are enjoyable and maybe you can find time to squeeze in a crafty gift like these snowman candy jars.

PS.  I just found these cute snowman jars on pinterest made with buttons after I already did my jars.  This would have been too cute to use to make the faces too!!!!
