I took a drive to one of my favorite junk love shops.  I know you have heard me talk about this place before but it is a super place to find some of the neatest treasures.  So if you live in the area you must stop by Tattered Tiques. http://tatteredtiques.blogspot.com/  Nancy, Julie and Anne run this shop. They are a mother daughter team and they are the sweetest three ever.  The first time you meet them you will see how sweet and talented they are.  I love to go there. I don't think I have ever walked out of there without finding some kind of treasure!!!!

I got this cute bunting that is white letters painted on burlap. So so cute. Not sure if it will stay where I have it now but I really think it is so cute and a great Easter banner.

Ok cute frames are not just for pictures and walls anymore. I got this chippy and thought it would be cute on my table.  I can see many cute themes for center pieces around this chippy frame.  I got another smaller oval old frame that I am hanging in my guest room on my frame wall.

Sometimes you just find a sweet little treasure that grabs a hold of you and says take me home. Well I had that today with this little chippy.  Nancy makes these cute pin cushions out of old silver sugar bowls. How stinkin cute are these!!!!

Look at the cute little detail of the ribbon and button. Had to have this little pretty.

Also purchased another chippy frame from there today that I am planning on hanging in my guest room on the "frame wall" I think empty frames speak volumes with history and imagination.

I also had gotten this old chippy door a while ago from their shop and I hung my angel that some of you may remember from Christmas.  She was too pretty and special to put away after the Christmas decor came down so I found her some everyday decor to hang onto and put her in my other guest room on that old chippy door.  She is a special guardian angel for loved ones that stay in this guest room.
Well I got out of my house and the sun was shinning and it felt so mild out today. Loved it. Sun, mild temp and junk treasures it does not get any better than that.
Hope you are having a great day too.

I am sharing my treasure finds with What's it Wednesday with the very sweet Patti  http://ivyandelephants.blogspot.com/

Good Morning.  I worked with some posts for my post!!!!!!!

I took these old chippy posts and framed out my kitchen window.  It is so hard to get good pictures in this kitchen with the way the light comes into this room.

I tried some angled shots to let you see the posts a little clearer.

As some of you might have seen in my spring post I used this old chippy post on my mantel with a spring garden hat.

These posts are framing the window in my office.  My husband took some old door pieces he had and finished the top of the window and then added the posts to frame out this window.

This pretty little chippy post we got at the flea market and my talented husband made it into a jewelry hanger for me. I love that he used old door knobs for the hangers.

I even have posts out in the garden in the summer.  This picture is from last year's garden can't wait to see flowers again.  Looking out today all I see is 10 inches of snow.

I even have an old post that works as a coat hanger in my mud room.

Well you can see I like old chippy things especially posts!!! I think they make for great decor pieces.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful week.

I have been working on my Spring/Easter mantel and a few other areas around the house.   It is hard to think Spring when there is 8 inches of snow outside!!! With Easter being early this year I decided to start on some of my decor. So here are some of my new spring decor added around the house

My lamb cake cast iron mold I got at the flea market this past week end has found it's way onto the tea cart and joining in is the Easter Bunny.

I had this old piece of picket so I started with that and just added some daisies through the fence and then added the old architectural pieces I had.

Added some old chippy bird houses and a little garden bunny.

Every garden scene for Easter must have an Easter Bonnet so I added a garden hat to the chippy post.

Old chippy bunny made out of old pieces of left over wood.

My little garden Easter Bunny and my garden boots.
I have my chippy bike all ready for Spring.

I added some spring flowers and ribbon with garden decor and a cute nest to the french door leading out to my deck and garden.

Added some Spring touches to the entry way. I love to use nests with some of my vintage decor.

Even the birdhouse in my dining room got some spring flowers added to it

Bird houses bring Spring into the decor.

Added a little bit of Spring to the top of the entertainment center.

Just adding a watering can filled with spring flowers.

I love birdhouses and nests as part of my Spring decor.

This old vintage umbrella I added some spring flowers in the kitchen.

Good Sunday Morning.  I went to the Kane County Flea Market yesterday.  It was the first of the season.  They are held the first Saturday and Sunday of each month starting in March and going through November.

There were not a lot of vendors with this first show of the season with it still being cold and snowy here in Chicago.  The vendors were inside the barns and buildings and only one brave vendor outside.

I did not score a lot of treasures but I did get a couple of things to share.  I did see a few of my fave vendors there.  It was just nice to get out and go to a flea market.  The sun was out and it was pretty mild to walk from the barns to the buildings.

I scored this vintage cast iron lamb mold. I loved that it was really heavy and old and chippy. I will find a cute display for this with my Easter decor.

I love that many lamb cakes were baked for many years in this old cast iron baking mold.  Lot's of history. Love that in these chippy pieces.

Then I got this cute ruffled runner for my table from Traci that has a shop called Whimsy in Morris Illinois and also sells at this flea market and on Etsy.  I love her vintage and pretty things.

I had this old vintage basket and added some flowers to go with my fresh flowers picket painted sign above my french door leading out to the deck. Now that I finished my mantel and a few more decor additions,  I feel like Spring is blooming a little bit around my house. I just need to work on my dining room table and buffet. I just hope the weather here will break in the next few weeks and we will have a milder Spring beginning soon.  I am so over winter!!!! Hope you are having a fantastic week end.
